My friend, Brenda Ong is from Taiwan. She told me that there are very many traditions and legends in Chinese culture with clear ties to Biblical incidents.
I asked her for an example, and she said that on the eve of the Chinese New Year, they put red paint on their door frames to keep the monster from coming into the house and eating the children. If you wake up on "New Year's Day" you can be happy because you were spared.
Pretty interesting ties to the Passover, eh?
